Life Story for Joseph J. Sheehan Jr.

Joseph J Sheehan

Joseph Sheehan died after a long struggle with bone marrow disease on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Venice, FL. He was born on October 3, 1943 in St. Vincent's Hospital, NYC. He was the beloved son of the late Joseph and Kathleen Sheehan and loving brother of the late Katheen Sheehan Conroy. He is survived by his brother Thomas Sheehan and sister Colleen Sheehan-Andreine (Al) and his partner and companion, Debbie Peden.

Joey had a tough-guy persona but a wicked sense of humor. Loved by his family and friends, he was a kid who came of age in the 50s and 60s and never lost his enthusiasm for the music of that era He loved Motown and his James Brown dance moves were legendary. He was also a huge Sinatra fan, loved gangster movies, the Mets and Georgetown Hoyas though the order is debatable.

Joey had an intense loyalty to his immediate family that also extended to his aunts who doted on him and uncles and cousins many of whom he worked with as a mailer for the NY Post. After retiring he relocated to Florida where he met his partner, Debbie, a loving relationship which lasted until his death.
