Condolence From: Regina J. Faighes
Condolence: Dear LeeAnn and David,
My heartfelt condolences to you and your family on the passing of dear Wes. I shall always cherish my memory of the very first time Wes and met each other. We were at the Flushing Town Hall, for a Musica Reginae event. When you introduced Wes and me to each other, he greeted me not with the reserved and formal demeanor with which most people would address a stranger but with warmth and exuberance, as if he were meeting an old friend. I knew then and there that a very dear and special person had come into my life. Over the years, I always enjoyed seeing Wes at our Sacred Music Society Christmas concerts, at our choir parties, LeeAnn's and David's birthday parties, at OSQ events, and at other happy and festive occasions. In later years, his declining health, and even his profound sorrow at the loss of his beloved wife, Shirley, did not diminish the twinkle in his eyes, the smile on his lips, and the lilt in his voice as he called me: "Kiddo."
I promise always to keep sweet Wes's memory alive in my heart.
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let Perpetual Light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
