John Louis  Wagner
John L. Wagner of Broad Channel, NY, born May 13, 1927, died peacefully at his home
on January 22, 2016 surrounded by his beloved family. Loving husband of Dolores (nee O'Hare), joyfully married for 64 years. Devoted father to 8 children; John (Pat), Dolores Traegler (Tom), Ellen Devlin (John), Patricia Gillespie, Mary Spera (John), Rosemary Bair (Tom), Robert (Margaret), Michael (Debbie). Also cherished by 22 grandchildren & 8 great-grandchildren. John was pre-deceased by 2 grandchildren. John enlisted in the Navy & served in the Pacific during World War II.

In addition to the service to his country, John was a devoted member of Saint Virgilius RC Church & his community organizations. First President of the BCAC, Past Commander of American Legion Post 1404, Member of VFW & Knights of Columbus, Sgt at arms with the Broad Channel Civic Assoc, & coached many sports teams. John was employed by L.I.L.C.O & retired after 40 years. He will truly be missed by all.
