My son Rudy and Victor John are best friends. The met in High School when they both attended Saint John the Baptist HS. Victor was always at our home and quickly became a member of our family. The first night I brought my daughter Olivia home, Victor and Rudy were there to greet her and played with her.
Cathy and I would talk from time to time about our boys and what mischief they were getting into. I always enjoyed talking to Cathy, we would laugh about our two.
In 1989 my father had gotten very sick and had to go to Houston for open heart surgery. I went alone and things weren't going so well, I wanted my husband Carlos to come to Houston to help me. I then called Cathy and asked her to keep an eye on Rudy for me. My mom and brother were also there and there was no family at home to look after Rudy. Cathy said of course and Carlos was able to come help me. I called her every day to see how Rudy was doing, she was just wonderful to me and I will forever be greatful to her.
I ran into Cathy in the neighborhood from time to time after the boys grew up. It was always good to see her. We would catch up on our boys and laugh.
