Obituary for Mark A Stevans
Mark Alfred Stevans passed away on May 1, 2022 at the age of 72, in Rego Park, New York.
Mark was born on November 19, 1949 to Laura Mark and George Stevans in Brooklyn, New York, and spent his formative years upstate near Greenwood Lake, New York. After graduating from Monroe-Woodbury High School, he went on to Colorado State University Pueblo, and later relocated back to New York City where he was a Journeyman Sheet Metal Worker and a member of Local 28 for many years.
Mark was an avid storyteller who never failed to regale others with his flourished and humorous tales. He enthusiastically shared stories of the things he enjoyed through the years – working on old cars in Greenwood Lake, adventures out west in Colorado, deep sea fishing out of Sheepshead Bay, and of course any steak that was worth writing home about.
Mark is survived by his wife Frances, son Kyle, daughter Alyson, brother Glenn, mother Laura, and several other loving relatives.
Mark will be honored in a funeral service scheduled for 10am-12pm on Sunday May 8, 2022 at Hillebrand Funeral home (63-17 Woodhaven Boulevard, Rego Park, NY 11374), followed by a brief interment ceremony at Beth Moses Cemetery (1500 Wellwood Ave, West Babylon, NY 11704).
