Laurence A. Doyle, residing in Middle Village, NY, passed away peacefully at New York Presbyterian Queens Hospital on Friday, March 24, 2023 with his family by his side. He was 79.

Laurence was born on March 28, 1943, in Dublin, Ireland, son of Rose, (née Raleigh) and Christopher Doyle. Predeceased by his parents, his siblings John, Tommy, Bernadette and John and his grandchild Juliana. He is survived by his beloved wife Reta (née Sweeney) of 53 years, children Barbara and Kevin, son-in-law Fabio, daughter-in-law Christina, granddaughter Isabella Rose, siblings, Mary, Kay, Rose and Christy as well as many nieces and nephews.

Lar, as he was affectionately known, emigrated to New York in 1962, and began working for Consolidated Edison where he had an impressive 43 year career as a Design Technician. During that period he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1965 and honorably discharged with a rank of Sergeant in 1971.
Lar was an excellent artist and woodworker and enjoyed working on his own home and his children's home. Lar took great pleasure relaxing on the beach and in his backyard which was his sanctuary. He was an avid reader and a really thoughtful writer.
He took great pride and effort in the beautification of his neighborhood and was awarded a citation from the Council of the City of New York in 2004. He and Reta were recognized as New Yorkers of the Week by the NY1 Television Network for their countless efforts and volunteer work in keeping their neighborhood clean.
Lar enjoyed his evenings at home with Reta where they shared a glass of wine and listened to their favorite songs as they strolled down memory lane.
Lar was always the life of the party at family gatherings and was loved by all. His family will miss his warmth and quick wit. He was a constant source of love and support.
